The Rules…

Tour de France Cycling 2023 - Rules for Top 10s & 176 Ticket Sweepstake

  1. Plucky will offer several Tour de France 2023 Sweepstakes. The two formats in question here will be as follows; one will have all 176 main riders (no reserve riders) and one rider per ticket, and the other will be a sweepstake on a points based game with 8 riders per ticket (22 tickets) and one point awarded to any rider who has a top ten finish for each of the 21 Stages.

  2. Plucky have selected a field of 176 cyclists representing the main eight riders of each of the 22 teams participating.

  3. The reserve riders (normally numbered 9&10, 19&20 all the way up to 219&220) will not be included. Should any of these riders come in the top ten in any stage, the point will go to the rider who came in the next place in the race and who is one of the main 176 riders.

  4. Each sweepstake ticket will contain either the name of one rider, or the numbers on the jersey of 8 riders.

  5. There will be either 176 or 22 tickets available in the sweepstakes.

  6. The 8 cyclists’ numbers on each ticket have already been selected and are available below.

  7. The randomised process by which we assigned a rider’s number to a ticket is described in our general Rules of the Game and has been recorded for compliance purposes. Here we took the numbers of the top 8 riders in each of the 22 teams (176 riders) and allocated them numbers 1-8, 11-18, 21-28 etc, and have excluded all reserve riders  (numbers 9&10, 19&20, 29&30 etc.). When the actual field is published we will match each randomised number with each rider’s actual number and publish them here also. 

  8. The Tour de France ‘Top 10s’ sweepstake will be a ‘winner takes all’ event with only one prize for the winner.

  9. The full 176 rider sweepstake can be a ‘winner takes all’ sweepstake or one with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.

  10. Each ticket will be either scratched off at random by the customer or will be allocated at random by Plucky where the customer is unable to participate in the ‘draw’ itself.

  11. The winner for the ‘Top 10s’ sweepstake will be based on the ticket that has the highest total of top 10 finishes on it when all 8 cyclist’s top 10s have been added up.

  12. In the case of private individual sweepstakes, first shall receive 90.25% of the total pot.

  13. In the case of sweepstakes being held in aid of charities or clubs, the latter shall receive 40.25% of the ‘gross’ pot (less 15% Pool Betting Duty) and the winner shall receive 50%.

  14. Should there be a tie for first place, the prize will be divided by the number of tickets and shared equally between the relevant ticket holders.

  15. In the case that one or more cyclists do not start the race or are disqualified or withdrawn during the event, then that customer will lose the possibility of scoring top 10 points with that cyclist.

  16. The sweepstake result is based on the result declared immediately following the finishing Stage of the event. Any subsequent change in the placings (eg.due to disqualification) will not affect the sweepstake result.

  17. Winner’s funds will be credited to customer’s accounts within 24 hours of the result being declared. In the unlikely event of some force majeure preventing the Tour de France from taking place, all entries will be void and all funds will be credited back to customers’ accounts, less a small deduction to cover Plucky’s transaction costs. This will be a maximum of 5%.

  18. These rules should be read in conjunction with Plucky’s general Rules of the Game and Terms and Conditions.
